To Landscape Industry,
Like coffee, landscaping is a huge industry in Hawaii and this shows you that with a well-organized voice and support, the State of Hawaii Dept. of Ag may assist your industry on its major concerns and issues. Here is a 2-year funding request totaling $800,000 for the coffee berry bean borer ( $500,000 for research/development and $350,000 for control, mitigation, and education) that may be offered to successful proposals.
HDOA is Requesting Proposals for CBB Research and Development (CBBR&D14) and Control and Mitigation (CBBCONTMIT14)
The two HDOA requests for proposal, CBBCONTMIT14 and CBBR&D14, have finally been released and posted today. The open period will be from today until March 25th. The total funding amount is $800,000, split between research and development ($250,000 each fiscal year 2013-2014 and 2014-2015) and Control and Mitigation ($300,000). We encourage everyone that is able to put a project together to apply for funding, and there is no minimum limit, only a maximum.
