Rainbow Shower, Cassia x nealiae—85 trees planted along 6.7mile stretch of Baldwin Ave., starting at Paia and ending below Makawao; planted by Ethel Baldwin and later by Mayor Hannibal Tavares. Landowner: Maui County. Height 35’, diameter 15 “, crown 30’
The extended stand of shower trees lining Baldwin Avenue from Paia to Makawao town are designated among the Exceptional Trees of Maui County.
Long cane grass now smothers their trunks, which robs the trees of vital nutrients while distracting from their potential beauty. Come join us, for a morning of restoration.
